Apparel Sourcing Week 2019 opens doors for India`s retail industry

14 March 2019

The anticipation for India’s premier sourcing event ends today as the doors to the very first Apparel Sourcing Week just opened with the lighting of the lamp. Gaurav Gupta, Principal Secretary Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of Karnataka and BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman were the Guests of honour.
The two-day event will host who’s who of the retail and manufacturing industry and is rightly being betted as a window to the US $ 46 billion Indian fashion retail market, which is expected to touch US $ 115 billion by 2026.
The manufacturers in the likes of Standard Group, Pacific Jeans, Anowara Knit Composite, Armana Group, Mahmud Group, Pratibha Syntex, Sonia & Sweaters, Epic Group, Team Group, Energypac Fashions, Well Group, Must Garments, Green Smart Shirts, Jamuna & Giant, Pakiza Knit Composite, Apex Textile Printing, Anzir Apparel, Nipa Group, Laila Group, Blue Bay Asia Limited and SWF, are elated to be a part of this one-of-its-kind concept and are all set with their stalls at the event venue along with the new additions who joined the bandwagon including Threadmill Clothing, Shanghai world Fashion and RBSR Fashions.
Apparel Sourcing Week 2019 is sponsored by Shima Seiki and co-sponsored by Navis Tube Tex, Blue Kaktus, Manohar Filaments, Madura Coats, Fashion Snoops, Technopak, Mainetti, Sakho Group, Third Eyesight and Delhivery. While the first day is going to talk about the major sourcing destinations for India, the future of fashion retail in India and about maintaining the right balance between online and offline retail, the second day will dwell on sourcing strategies, requisites for smooth imports for fashion retail brands and technological integration in retail. If the panel discussions in the presence of major retail leaders of the country was not enough, the ASW is also hosting two vendor sessions, trends forecast by Fashion Snoops and interactive sessions with WGSN and Winkl.
Apparel Sourcing Week, in its inaugural endeavour, has laid all its emphasis on relevance rather than on the magnitude to guarantee complete satisfaction. You would be surprised to know that despite the mind-blowing response from stakeholders, we decided to rope in a select group of just 30 manufacturers from Bangladesh, China and Vietnam to meet a whopping 500 plus brands/retailers operating in the lucrative Indian fashion retail segment to ensure a satisfying experience for both buyers and manufacturers looking to make a lingering imprint on what experts term as the future of global retail, India.
The ASW is not only connecting manufacturers with the growing Indian retail market but with the traditional markets like the US and Europe, along with the non-traditional and emerging markets.
