With less than 40 days to go, the Apparel Sourcing Week 2019 is drawing attention from all quarters. While the booth space for the niche event has been filled up, visitor registration is increasing by the day. The interest it has generated is phenomenal and this only goes to prove that the concept behind the show – regional collaboration – is indeed a strong direction as also the need of the hour. |
The latest to support this exquisite show is the Ministry of Commerce. The Honourable Minister for Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu has consented to be the Chief Guest at the inaugural session on 15th March. Prabhu understands the significance of developing strong trade relations in South East Asia. In fact, India and Bangladesh are already working on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) which would set an example for giving a boost to regional trade in South Asia. |
No doubt, given the cultural and linguistic affinities between both the countries, there is immense potential for trade and co-operation. Acknowledging this prolific opportunity and supporting the need for greater synergy in the garment industry, the newly appointed Commerce Minister of Bangladesh Tipu Munshi is also excited to be at the Apparel Sourcing Week, consenting to be the Guest of Honour. |
Coming from a garment manufacturing background, Munshi not only understands the significance of ASW ’19 platform from a business perspective, but also sees India as an important market of the future. Talking to the Editor-in-Chief of Apparel Online, Deepak Mohindra soon after his appointment, the Commerce Minister of Bangladesh shared that one of his major focus areas was to develop better trade relations with India and among the prime product categories that could improve the trade deficit was garments. |
With over 20 top Bangladeshi garment exporters like Standard Group, Pacific Group, Laila Styles, Giant Group, Apex Industries, Armana Group, Sonia Sweaters, Energypac Fashions, NIPA Group, Anowara, Pakiza, Well Group exhibiting at the show, the retailers and brands in India will be privy to products from companies that have already earned the respect of buyers in the West. Representing a wide product range from denimwear to kidswear, sweaters, suits, jackets, athleisure, casual fashion and bottoms, there is something for every retailer. |
Scheduled for 15-16 March 2019 at the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru, the hype around the event is getting stronger and with the Governments of both India and Bangladesh supporting the platform, the excitement is mounting. The organiser of the event Apparel Resources is happy to be the facilitator of business among South Asian players in a relaxed atmosphere. The exhibition is supplemented by a series of 6 retail-focused seminars by industry experts, 2-trend forecast workshops by Fashion Snoops and one gala networking dinner on the first night that will bring together the who’s who of the Indian Retail industry. |
Apparel Sourcing Week 2024, a two-days Sourcing Show not only provides the Asian manufacturers a platform to showcase their products & manufacturing capabilities to the Brands & Retailers from all over the world including India, but also extends them a chance to attend the multiple seminars (headed by industry experts), workshops, open-house discussions and networking opportunities organised during these three days, which would help the manufacturers get a better understanding of Indian and International Retail and evolving dynamics of sourcing in various markets and retail formats.
